This design was created digitally by me, and then produced by Lamûre BR for Liga Feminina de Combate ao Câncer. The rose symbolizes the institution. Moving outwards, the history of Liga is immortalized in the written word. The border is decorated with Individual medallions of Greek goddesses, adding a level of historical aura. with their strong and powerful traits transmitted to the viewer/wearer. The baby blue background symbolizes prostate cancer awareness, while the pink stays true to the breast cancer awareness color scheme.

The scarf was printed on a satin 93 x 93 cm textile in for the annual event. So far, between October 2021 and October 2022, R$19,500 in proceeds have gone to Liga Feminina de Combate ao Câncer to aid cancer patients.

Cheveux De Guerrier

Made in 2021 | A3 Paper | Watercolor on paper

Cancer patients must feel represented. And in a world so focused on beauty and vanity, is there a way to look and feel beautiful when your hair is just growing back? Taking inspiration from vintage hairstyle charts from the 1920’s – 1960’s. “Cheveux de Guerrier”, or “Warrior Hair”, pictures short hairstyles that can offer style and possibility. Post- chemotherapy can be a time for strength and beauty when we call upon past iconic styles.

This piece was donated and sold at Liga Feminina de Combate ao Câncer’s 2021 bazaar. It raised R$1,500 to aid cancer patients at Santa Casa hospital in Porto Alegre.

mary

Made in 2022 | A4 Paper | Graphite + Charcoal on paper

Graphite and a blending stump to create ombres of shadows and value, flowing movement, and light reveals my closeness to religion and Mother Mary. Although a statue, I wanted to focus on shadowing and details to make her look lifelike; a bowed head and clasped hands capture her devotion to her faith above all. This piece evokes a sense of calmness, the fluid strokes meant to allow me, and the viewer, to feel a sense of peace within.

Liga solidária

Made in 2022 | Printed on A5 Paper | Digital drawing on Procreate for IPad

I took inspiration from the Gothic architecture of the cathedral, the pink rose, which is Liga’s symbol, and religious imagery in the figure’s jewelry for this fashion croqui-style piece. The pink roses around the background entangle and intertwine, suggesting the hardships and battles survivors go through when fighting cancer, and the rose is the blooming of life being celebrated. This artwork was used to be the visual identity and invitation for the Liga Solidária runway show of 2022, where the proceeds of the invites went to Liga Feminina de Combate ao Câncer to aid cancer patients at Santa Casa.

Liga solidária panel

The background in the artwork seen previously was the inspiration to make the life-size model. Lighting and landscape were coordinated to fit with the event and real pink roses were used on the model. Making the art come to life with every person who walked on the runway.
